These behind the scenese are probably the funniest posts on our blog! Just looking through our old behind the scenes post makes us laugh and also question our choice of clothes at that time. Haha! So here is another one of these behind the scenes from last year! These first two are from our first wedding of 2016 in Salzburg. It was cold and snowy but we just loved photographing that wedding!
Domen is always the one that captures group photographs and most of the times he has to climb some narrow stairs to come to little windows that allow him to be high enough to get everyone in the photo.
Yes, the competition at weddings gets bigger every year! Just kidding, we always let everyone take the formal photographs, just as long as the people in the photographs know in which camera to look(our, of course :)).
Sometimes there are no windows upstairs so a seating cube will do!
Domen is also the one that climb the stairs in churches to get the look from the above. Don’t worry i always hide so he can get a nice photograph(without me in it).
Photographing at vineyards! It was gorgeous!
We just loved this rustic dancefloor! Can you spot Domen?
He is the perfect light test model, especially when we go to the location to see if the sun is low enough for some last bride and groom portraits.
Again one of those, find Domen photographs. He thought he was hinding well, but i guess he wasn’t :).
Light testing once more!
Ahh, this golden hour was amazing! I love every single photo from that shot!
I’m always the one directing our couples and Domen is the one photographing from all around and getting interesting shots, sometimes also of me in action while talking to the couples.
This was one of the funniest photo booth ever! The groom picked up the mirror and said to Domen to photograph in a way that he’s in it too. Too funny!
Don’t worry guys, you look great! That’s what Domen was probably saying to them :D.
And this is my favourite photograph in this post! This was taken on an engagement session at Grožnjan, Croatia, where Zoja was with us because we were doing that session while returning from our seaside trip. She was such a good girl and so easy to photograph with! And i captured this fun photo of her being curious to see what is happening. It was one of those, bring your dog to work, day :).
And this was the view they were seeing! Looks like Tuscany, but it was actually in Istria, Croatia. Sooo pretty!
Me, doing some detail shots, during some bridal portrait on a rainy, but gorgeous wedding day at Castle Otočec.
I look quite serious here, i guess that’s how you look when you’re checking if you have the settings right for the aisle shots! Also please don’t mind the spots on my legs – i’m allergic to mosquitoes and get big swollen spots after a bite and it looks awful :D.
Perspective from above, where i was trying to get the people together for a group shot.
And this is from France. So nice to look back on this amazing day! It still feels like a dream and not really true that we were there in french countryside photographing a wedding at a stunning chateau.
What a funny shot! Don’t worry, they knew what i was talking about, even though i talk a lot with my hands. Funny!
Fixing the gorgeous lace wedding dress for a few more still bridal shots.
Looking all fancy for a french wedding! And checking his settings for the first dance.
And this is me looking a little less fancy, because i forgot to pack my blazer. Yes, things like that happen when you have 2 hours to finish packing and catch the plane in the morning after 6 hours of sleep after a whole day wedding the day before. I think this description is perfect for a hashtag #thelifeofaweddingphotographer :).
Tying the ties is in our job description, well Domen’s job description, i don’t really know how to do it, but i think i’ll learn for this season!
Domen photographing details at the gorgeous Kodarinov mlin! He didn’t always love photographing the details, but he learned how to photograph them and what to capture while photographing all those pretty flowers and decor!
And this is how those walking shots happen. Don’t worry, we have real, in focus ones, from this moment :).
Details, details, details! And that’s my hand, while fixing that beautiful stationery, because we took this photo outside on a rustic table and the wind was blowing so it was not the easiest.
Light testing for cake cutting. And then i said if he can have a photo taken without a camera, and he gave me that thinking face :).
And this is me helping with his light testing!
He’s always there when i need to test if the golden light is where it should be.
Fluffing the veil, it’s usually Domen’s part, but here i jumped in and let him do the photo.
Sometimes i take photographs and Domen has to jump in the photo to get a different angle :).
Testing photo booth light, not an easy task, but someone has to do it :D.
He always finds something to stand on for group shots. It’s not always the saftest place, but it does get you a nice group shot!
Focused Domen focusing on a ring shot :).
That’s his face after i said to him “Can you please give me a smile so i can test my flash?”.
Yes, you guessed it right, we were taking family formals here.
And sometimes even standing on something is not high enough, thankfully we have live view :).
Me enjoying that golden gorgeous light!
Getting close for some pretty make up shots! It doesn’t always happen that we’re together during the getting ready, so it’s nice to have a few behind the scenes.
Me taking a selfie, well just kidding, taking a photo of this beautiful bride having her hair done.
Always there so tie the tie :). Don’t worry, he also knows how to tie the bow tie!
And one of “find Urška” shots. Can you spot my camera?
Domen trying to take the wide photo of the ceremony, but i was in the way…
Don’t worry, i’m already going out of your frame :).
How fun is this golf cart? It was perfect for driving around the big property of the venue and finding perfect spots for their portraits :).
And this ladies and gentelmen is the first photo of us(well Domen) that was included in their wedding album! Yes, our job description goes way beyond taking photographs!
Tying ties, bow ties and driving golf carts are not the only things that we do. We’re also there is you need help with carrying your wedding dress :).
First of all, how gorgeous is this? And yes, that’s me getting in the way of Domen’s photo – don’t worry, he has one without me.
Yes, being very professional and doing a quick snap for the Insta stories. I just had to share this beautiful italian session in Verona.
While Domen find perfect spot for taking the group photo, i’m the one that gathers everyone to look at him.
Again one of those spots that don’t look like the saftest option, but you know, everything for a great photo!
Not sure what i was doing here, it might be that i was just passing behind them :D.
Again talking with my hands to show them where they should walk.
I was thinking if i should put this photo in or not. But you know what, i decided to put it here, because we always like to have fun photographing weddings. Always! And this was taken probably half an hour before we ended the night at our last wedding, so that explains the face :D. And if you’re wondering what’s that in our ears – they’re ear plugs so we can sleep better after weddings every weekend :).
We decided to add some more selfies from Instagrams into this post. The left photo is us in Loire valley two days before photographing a wedding in France and the right one of us at the venue the day before the beautiful french wedding.
And we’re ending this fun post with two italian photographs. On the right one we just finished a beautiful honeymoon session in Verona and on the right we were exploring Venice before a sunrise session. We hoped you enjoyed a look into the behind the lens!
